Senior Mechanical Engineer - ( 26000046 )Description About the role We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our busy and friendly Perth Mechanical team. The role is suitable for a qualified candidate who has significant Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design experience on building projects.We are looking for someone that is able to work independently on a wide range of projects with an ability to manage workload on several projects at different stages of completion. We are currently working on a wide range of health care, commercial, retail, defence, industrial and educational building projects.Day to day tasks would involve:Develop HVAC Engineering, heat load calculations, equipment and reticulation sizing and selection, coordination, and documentationResponsible for planning and managing projects from initial planning, concept and brief, through to installation and commissioning.Demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge, providing oversight and supervision to ensure successful project delivery.Represent Stantec externally to Clients, playing a senior and active role in managing these relationships and generate repeat businessWork closely and develop trusted relationships with other project stakeholders, notably architects, contractors, builders and end users to achieve efficient and cost-effective solutions with a high-quality outcomeManage HVAC design projects in accordance with code and company quality standardsDelegate tasks to junior engineers, provide feedback and contribute to their developmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBring value to in-house design/project meetingsContribute to the overall strategy and development of the Mechanical team and to our company culture.Adhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality proceduresTo be successful for this role you'll need:Hold a Mechanical Engineer Degree or equivalentIdeally have 8 years previous HVAC design engineering experience in Consulting within the Building services industryKnowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian StandardsWorking knowledge of Revit and other softwareHave experience planning and managing successful projectsWillingness to establish and maintain strong client relationships to formulate repeat opportunitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlinesPositive, can-do attitude and strong work ethicAdhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics and quality proceduresAbout Stantec The Stantec community unites approximately 34,000 employees working in over 450 locations across six continents.
