The Product Security Manager leads a team of cybersecurity specialists tasked with ensuring that our products and services are secure and resilient to minimise risk to our business.
The role will work closely with product and delivery teams to identify and mitigate potential security risks throughout the development process. This involves integrating secure-by-design principles into delivery, coordinating security testing, writing security use cases and assisting with onboarding to security tooling.
The role requires strong stakeholder management skills with a focus on customer service and will require active engagement to work closely with the assigned vertical to align security objectives with business priorities.
This role will also help enable our Secure by Design framework that will facilitate a self-service agile model for our project design and delivery teams, where patterns, templates and frameworks can be used independently to enable a shared security responsibility culture.
**key responsibilities include the following**:
- Working product and delivery teams to define security requirements, assess risk and offer solutions to mitigate potential exposures.
- Ensuring product teams know and understand compliance, regulatory and legislative requirements as they relate to security.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Secure by Design framework into delivery teams.
- Report on the cyber risk posture of third parties and introduced risk identified in BU change projects.
- Prioritise workload based on business demand channels.
- Proactively engage with BU Stakeholders to understand upcoming priorities and security touchpoints.
- Create training materials on patterns, risk assessments and threat modelling.
- Enhance internal processes, templates, and frameworks to facilitate a business self-service model. - Running regular training sessions with design squads on how to integrate security into product development.
- Conduct Security Risk and 3 rd Party Assessments (where required), offering recommendations to mitigate identified risks.
- Work with risk coordinators on the management and reporting of identified risks and issues.
- Provide ad-hoc advisory support for proof of concepts and innovation projects.
- Collaborate closely with risk and compliance teams to ensure continual mitigation of specific risks
You may also carry out any other duties reasonably requested by Bupa from time to time.
**To be successful in this role you'll need**:
- 10+ years' experience in Security Consultancy
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate Information Technology discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Knowledge of security and risk frameworks including ISO-27000 series, SABSA, CISSP and NIST
- Experience operating in an APRA and/or PCI regulated industry sector (preferred) - Proven track record of large-scale security architecture and design experience
- Extensive project planning experience with the ability to assist with estimates, scheduling and resource demand management
- Strong business and commercial acumen with a focus on the customer and business outcome
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including quality, concise technical documentation, report writing and presentations.
- Excellent team player working within matrix structures, with demonstrated ability to broker outcomes effectively and collaboratively with colleagues and peers
- Vendor and partner management experience, including professional services and technology vendor
