Government Relations and Public Policy Expert
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a global leader in digital services and consulting as a strategic public affairs and government relations professional. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Ethics and Compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company's corporate affairs and policy-related activities align with and support its business interests and reputation in Australia and New Zealand, alongside its global position on key issues.
As a recognized strategic thinker, you will proactively anticipate, identify, and address potential legislative and regulatory issues affecting the company. You will assess public policy issues, developing and implementing comprehensive plans to protect and advance the company's interests in multiple jurisdictions. Your expertise in navigating complex legislative, policy, and regulatory matters will enable you to influence government entities and promote business goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years' experience in government relations and public policy, gained through senior roles at companies or relevant trade associations. They will possess keen business acumen, being able to connect business issues to government relations and public policy matters. The ability to straddle complex issues and develop a comprehensive strategic plan for the regional government affairs program is essential. Additionally, they will have a track record of dealing effectively with all levels of government and across party lines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Anticipate, identify, and address potential legislative and regulatory issues affecting the company
* Assess public policy issues and develop comprehensive plans to protect and advance the company's interests
* Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the regional government affairs program
* Advise the company on how to achieve projects and goals in a highly regulated environment while maintaining compliance with laws and regulations
* Serve as a key voice for the company before various audiences, positioning it as a leader in government relations and public policy
Requirements:
* Minimum of 15 years' experience in government relations and public policy
* Keen business acumen and ability to connect business issues to government relations and public policy matters
* Track record of dealing effectively with all levels of government and across party lines
* Ability to develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans
* Demonstrated expertise in partnering with business leaders to determine how the government affairs function can promote business goals and objectives
