Remuneration: $186,241 - $229,825 pa (not including superannuation and allowances) / As per VMO Sessional Determination
Hours Per Week: 16 hours per week
Location: Negotiable

About the opportunity

At the Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub, you’ll be pivotal in providing high-quality Paediatric services in a newly established multidisciplinary program for children aged 0 to 12 experiencing mild to moderate emotional, social and behavioural health challenges.

You’ll provide expert clinical consultation and coordination to the Kids Hub team and external healthcare providers, utilising an integrated child centred and family focused approach, promoting advanced clinical practice for children and their carers.

The role will be anything but static. You’ll be involved in all aspects of community clinical practice from completion of assessments, formulation and oversight of treatment programs, to provision of expert guidance to the multidisciplinary team and other healthcare providers.

Where you'll be working

Working in a community setting with a multidisciplinary team, the Head to Health Kids Hub Service will be delivering family focused support to children aged 0- 12 years experiencing mild to moderate mental health and well being issues.

You’ll be working in an workplace of flexible practice and adaptive interventions with a skilled multidisciplinary team and engaged external providers.

You’ll have scope to shape the future direction of a new and dynamic service for children and families.

1. Evidence of registration with the Medical Board of Australia, Fellowship of the RANZCP or equivalent and subspecialty training and relevant qualification, experience and competency in Paediatrics.

2. Demonstrated experience in providing clinical services to children with mild to moderate mental health and/or developmental concerns.

3. Demonstrated understanding of the current and emerging issues in assessment and management of child and family mental health, developmental and well-being issues in a community setting.

4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team displaying effective communication and interpersonal skills across relevant modes of communication including electronic systems.

5. Demonstrated commitment to clinical capacity building, continuing education, research and quality improvement.

6. Demonstrated ability to exercise professional knowledge and judgement in providing specialised care and support for children and families with mental health and well-being concerns.

7. Demonstrated ability to work within a clinical governance structure and practice utilising relevant policies, protocols and legislative frameworks.

8. Hold a driver's licence valid in NSW and be prepared to travel as a requirement of the position.
