Overview
Join Our Payroll Team – Finance Officer (Full-Time, Maximum-Term). This is a maximum-term full-time opportunity to support our payroll team in ensuring staff are paid accurately and on time every week, with interpretation of Award provisions and responsive staff enquiries. We’re looking for a detail-oriented team player with experience using contemporary HR/Payroll software.
About The Role
- Supports Payroll Officer with the preparation of the weekly pay run.
- Responsible for special projects and assignments, including ad hoc reporting.
- Interprets and implements Local Government Award provisions, Council Policy requirements and relevant legislation demands.
- Responsible for user setup/security and the purchasing and inventory modules in the corporate financial system (Council uses Finance One).

- Base salary ranging from $74,572 per annum with competency-based increments up to $87,551, plus 12% super.

We Are Seeking
- Experience in delivering a medium-to-large volume, weekly payroll with a variety of employment arrangements (Council uses iChris and Timefiler).
- Experience with records management systems (Council uses Technology One).
- Eye for detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels and provide accurate interpretation of the Local Government Award.
- Previous experience with our software is desirable, but full training will be provided.

Where It’s Located
This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
