Based in Wonthaggi Hospital clinic (Bass Coast Hospital), an casual opportunity exists for an Clinical Assistant to join our friendly and collaborative team. This opportunity is open to casual hours, with the clinic open from Monday - Friday between 7:30am - 6:00pm. No prior experience is needed, but a background in healthcare is preferable.
Gippsland is home to some of Victoria's most spectacular national parks, be charmed by tiny towns, and indulge in gourmet fresh produce in Gippsland. Amble along Ninety Mile Beach, set up camp or set sail on the Gippsland Lakes. Visit the local galleries and studios, or at local cellar, boutique distilleries and renowned restaurants. North of the Latrobe Valley are several large lakes and the spectacular mountains of the Great Dividing Range including the snow resort of Mount Baw Baw.
**Key accountabilities include**:
- Perform and assist with patient movement in the Medical Imaging service area, and the hospital when clinically required
- Assist with general clinic tasks and other patients of the department in any manner as directed by technical/clerical/medical staff
- Ensure Workplace Health and Safety legislation is complied with
- Providing excellent customer service and patient care
- Maintaining strong working relationships with patients, referrers, staff and managers
**What we're looking for**:
- Basic ability to handle patient care with compassion and tact, ensuring the patients privacy, dignity and confidentiality is maintained
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact amiably and effectively with both the public and colleagues
- Ability to function effectively as part of a diagnostic health team
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Ability to meet relevant VIC Health workplace requirements, including Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases
