Head Chef – Margaret River, WA
Blue Horizon Migration Pty Ltd is seeking a Head Chef to manage the smooth daily running of the kitchen, coordinate all aspects of food production, and lead a small team to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes. This hands-on role is ideal for a chef who thrives in a busy service environment and values quality, teamwork, and efficiency. The Head Chef reports to the Managing Director.

Full time, 38 hours per week, 5 days/week. Weekend hours are required.
Salary:
$77,000 + superannuation.
Task & Responsibilities
Ensure every dish is on point, from prep to plate.
Plan and adjust menus to keep offerings fresh and exciting.
Monitor costs and staffing to stay on budget without compromising quality.
Handle ordering and stocking of all ingredients, ensuring supply availability.
Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to run smooth service and resolve issues.
Coach the crew on cooking techniques and keep them up to speed on recipes.
Assist in line cooking during peak periods to maintain consistency.
Maintain a spotless and safe kitchen, following all food safety and hygiene regulations.
Hire and train new kitchen staff, ensuring confidence and competence.
Manage food preservation tasks such as freezing and storing ingredients.
Qualification & Experience
Qualifying requirement: AQF Diploma or higher in Hospitality.
Work experience: Minimum 1 year of full-time chef experience in the last 5 years, or 3 years if the qualification is not held.
