The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of experience in public practice and a strong desire to continue developing their technical and client relationship skills.This is a great opportunity to work closely with experienced partners who will provide direct mentoring and exposure to a wide variety of client work.You will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements and ensuring accurate tax reporting.
Additional tasks include assisting with budgeting and forecasting, performing reconciliations, and supporting senior accountants in various accounting projects.Key Responsibilities:Manage and review client bookkeeping records to ensure accuracy and compliance.Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and other activity statements on behalf of clients.Prepare individual, partnership, and company tax returns in accordance with relevant tax laws.Address superannuation matters including compliance and contributions.Assist clients with payroll tax compliance and reporting requirements.Liaise directly with clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored advice and solutions.Collaborate with senior accountants and partners on complex client issues and projects.Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide proactive advice to clients.Contribute to the development and improvement of internal processes and procedures.QualificationsStrong knowledge of accounting principles and practicesExperience with financial statements preparation and financial reportingProficiency in accounting software (Xero) and MS Office Suite, particularly ExcelExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail and accuracy in workStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work well in a team and independentlyBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldProfessional certification or undertaking professional certification (CPA or equivalent)
