Overview We are seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to join our Sydney team and support our national industrial and water business.
This role involves leading and developing the local Sydney team and delivering a diverse range of water infrastructure projects, including steel structures for hydraulic structures, pump stations, service reservoirs, and treatment facilities, as well as general light and heavy industrial projects.
You will manage end-to-end project delivery, including design, documentation, and construction phase support, within a multidisciplinary team.
The role offers mentoring opportunities for junior engineers and professional growth within the wider industrial and water teams.
Responsibilities Lead structural designs for steel structures across hydraulic structures, pump stations, service reservoirs, and treatment facilities, along with general light and heavy industrial projects.
Manage end-to-end project delivery, including design, documentation, and construction phase support.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of the local Sydney team and the wider industrial and water teams.
Collaborate with other disciplines to integrate best technical expertise across the business.
Lead and drive successful project outcomes as a principal within the Sydney Structural team.
Qualifications Chartered Professional Engineer with a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
Significant demonstrated experience in steel structures design (industrial buildings, steel framing and roofing).
Experience with concrete structures and/or liquid retaining structures is desirable but not essential.
Highly organized with outstanding technical and communication skills; ability to lead and mentor a team and drive project outcomes.
Collaborative working style across disciplines and a commitment to continuous learning and career progression, with a focus on mentoring junior engineers.
