Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work in Far North Queensland, an opportunity now exists for an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join the team on a major Cairns-based transport infrastructure project. This is a hands-on, site-focused geotechnical engineering role supporting the delivery of complex transport infrastructure works across Queensland. The position suits an engineer who is RPEQ accredited or eligible for RPEQ registration and comfortable applying professional engineering judgement in a construction environment. You will work closely with senior geotechnical engineers, project managers, contractors and client representatives, providing geotechnical input across design development and construction delivery. The role has a strong emphasis on site support, engineering documentation, quality assurance and practical problem-solving. Key areas of involvement include slope stabilisation works, ground anchoring systems, retaining structures and temporary works associated with road infrastructure projects. You will bring: A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering and RPEQ accreditation or eligibility Local geotechnical engineering experience within consulting, contracting or client-side environments Exposure to infrastructure, roadworks, or disaster recovery projects (preferred but not essential) Strong technical capability supported by sound commercial awareness The ability to build effective working relationships with clients, contractors and internal teams A professional, ethical and safety-focused approach to engineering practice You will join an industry-respected consultancy with a strong regional presence and a healthy future workload.
