Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
* Participating in a twelve-month cadetship program commencing November 2025, with structured rotations in metropolitan, national, and regional newsrooms.
* Gaining experience across Australia's journalism brands, mastering core skills and modern techniques.
* Engaging in special projects that influence public discourse.
* Working in a supportive environment that fosters creativity and collaboration.
* Benefiting from mentorship by seasoned professionals.
* Contributing to newsrooms in locations including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Townsville, Cairns, Darwin, Hobart, and Geelong.
* Attending an assessment centre on either 16th or 17th September 2025 as part of the selection process.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
* A passion for storytelling, with the ability to craft narratives through words, visuals, and multimedia.
* Adaptability to dynamic environments and a keen interest in emerging technologies and social media trends.
* Interest in local stories, regional insights, national affairs, or specialised topics such as technology or data journalism, with a desire to develop subject matter expertise.
* Availability for the assessment centre on the specified dates.
