An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Content Editor/Writer to join the commercial content production team at News Australia on a four-to-six-month contract, four days per week.
Reporting to a creative director, this person will create and sub-edit branded content for some of Australia's leading news and lifestyle titles, including, The Australian, Vogue, Escape, delicious., and more.
This role can be based in either our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office locations.
Key responsibilities:
* Writing and sub-editing branded print, digital and video content that meets client briefs and is in line with News Australia's titles
* Partnering with art directors to create polished concepts and executions that exceed client expectations
* Coming up with fresh ideas in response to briefs and articulating them in a compelling way
* Developing an understanding of market trends and client needs
* Sub editing marketing collateral
* Communicating clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
Who are you?
This role will suit a writer with sub-editing and conceptual skills, and a high level of attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience writing and sub-editing editorial and/or commercial content plus experience or a willingness to gain experience brainstorming and articulating campaign ideas, and writing video and audio scripts and social posts.
We're looking for:
* A minimum of five years of writing experience in creative agency and/or editorial roles
* Ability to work with a team of copywriters, art directors and producers to deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment while
* Someone with a positive attitude and great communication and problem-solving skills
* Ability to multi-task and manage multiple tight deadlines is essential
* Experience writing for lifestyle and/or news titles would be ideal
* Experience writing for video and articulating insights and campaign ideas would be ideal
* Experience using InDesign would be a bonus
