About us:
The Occupational Therapy Department at Cairns Hospital provides evidence‑based, patient‑centred care across a range of acute and sub‑acute clinical settings. The service works within multidisciplinary teams to support safe, effective care, functional recovery and discharge planning for patients across Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service facilities.

About your role:
* Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
* Participate in department planning and problem solving activities in a constructive and professional manner, demonstrating initiative and effective communication skills.
* Develop quality leadership skills in relation to the delivery of Occupational Therapy services within the Cairns & Hinterland Hospital & Health Service by contributing to the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities including effective risk management, in order to enhance the delivery of safe and efficient Occupational Therapy clinical services
* Provide evidence based, patient focused Occupational Therapy clinical services within acute and sub-actue settings as rostered by utilising increasing professional and clinical knowledge, expertise and clinical decision making skills to enhance service delivery in line with clinical and departmental work instructions, under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician.
