About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and team centred, Grade 2 Physiotherapist to join our rapidly expanding workforce. Our intensive care unit (ICU) has recently undergone an extensive transformation as part of GV Health’s recent redevelopment and we are pleased to offer this new position of Grade 2 Medical/ICU Physiotherapist.
In this role you will work alongside the Senior Acute Clinical Lead Physiotherapist and will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of services to the medical and respiratory wards and ICU.
The role will include supervision of junior physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and Allied Health Assistants as well as participation in departmental and organisational quality projects and working groups.
This position would suit a Grade 2 physiotherapist (or equivalent) working in the public or private health sector or an experienced Grade 1 Physiotherapist wishing to upskill into a more senior role.

The successful applicant will have
4. A minimum of 2 years relevant clinical experience working as Physiotherapist either in the acute setting or in an area of work with a focus on cardiorespiratory physiotherapy and ICU.
5. Sound clinical reasoning skills and comprehensive understanding of the assessment and treatment of acute and cardiorespiratory presentations.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including an ability to liaise with a wide range of internal and external providers at all levels.
7. Well-developed time management and problem-solving skills to prioritise tasks and ensure efficient physiotherapy practice.
8. A good understanding of the physiotherapy management of typical presentations in an intensive care unit
9. A good understanding of the management of post-operative physiotherapy for general surgical conditions would be beneficial.
10. An enthusiastic approach to learning and self-development.
11. An interest in undertaking further training in the cardiorespiratory field would be considered advantageous but not essential.
