Mechanic - InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef at IHG Hotels & Resorts. This is an on-island based casual 6 month fixed-term contract. Relocation to Hayman Island is required. Base rate (casual) $***** + penalties + loading.

The Role
As the island mechanic it will be your responsibility to maintain our fleet of vehicles and mechanical equipment to provide resort operations with equipment and vehicles that run like clockwork. Your preventative maintenance approach will help reduce the impact of vehicle and equipment failures, ensuring guests have a trouble-free experience.
Responsibilities
Maintain fleet of vehicles and mechanical equipment to support resort operations.
Perform preventative maintenance to minimise equipment failures and downtime.
Approach tasks with high standards, devotion and pride.
About You / Qualifications
Trade qualification in automotive engineering.
Queensland safety induction White Card.
Familiar with Microsoft Office, Email, and reporting tools such as HotSoS and Hardcat.
Knowledge in vehicle electric diagnosis and hydraulic operations.
Experience with marine vessels is desired.
Fitness – able to stand for long periods, bend and kneel as required.
Queensland driver's licence and compliance with local driving laws.
