Job Title: Cleaner (Person-Centred Services)
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Cleaner to join our team and contribute to providing high-quality services to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Dusting and polishing of furniture
* Mopping, sweeping and vacuuming of floors
* Cleaning bathrooms and toilets
* Removal of rubbish
* Listening with empathy to residents and their representatives about cleaning requests and reporting to the Supervisor any requests that cannot be immediately actioned
* Working positively and collaboratively with other staff to provide person-centred safe and effective cleaning services and supports
* Supporting and mentoring new housekeeping staff as well as assisting other cleaning staff as required
* Reporting any risks that have the potential to cause an accident or injury
About You: To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Previous cleaning experience in a commercial role
* Adequate communication skills and a good level of English literacy
* The ability to read written instructions and speak in a manner that older people can understand
* Excellent time management skills to manage your workload without direct supervision in order to complete tasks within the allocated time
* A good understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours
* A basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards as applicable to the role
