We are seeking an experienced Chef Manager to join our team at Chartwells in Brisbane. As a specialist in providing catering and hospitality services in education, we aim to deliver engaging and nutritious dining solutions that support academic achievement.
The Role
We have two key positions available:
* Full Time Chef Supervisor: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
* Full Time Apprentice Chef: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
About the Job
As a Chef Manager with us, your responsibilities will include:
* Planning, supervising, and monitoring food production for retail catering, functions, and events
* Maintaining effective customer and client relationships
* Responsibility for stock control, budgets, rostering, mentoring, and training both front-of-house and back-of-house staff
* Maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation
* Ensuring contract compliance is met through an understanding of the scope of work required
* Actively maintaining a high standard of food safety, allergen awareness, and occupational health and safety
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Experience as a Chef Manager with a minimum Cert III Commercial Cookery qualification
* Experience in cafe-style retail and functions catering
* A strong understanding of allergen management and food safety
* The ability to work Monday to Friday with occasional weekend functions or events
* A basic understanding of food and labour costs, as well as proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications
* Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to lead and mentor teams both back and front of house
