Our Grounds and Maintenance team ensures the highest standards in presentation and safety of Blue Dolphins' assets, grounds, and facilities. As a department manager, you will integrate into our Head of Department management structure, providing leadership, oversight, and daily coordination of grounds and maintenance duties, task allocation, and team rosters. You will ensure effective communication and liaison with other departmental leaders and resort management to guarantee smooth resort operations and product delivery. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Responsibilities include:
1. Attending and contributing to head of department meetings.
2. Providing daily direction, training, and development opportunities for the grounds and maintenance team.
3. Preparing team rosters to ensure adequate coverage.
4. Ensuring all equipment is serviced and maintained.
5. Managing resources efficiently within budget constraints.
6. Maintaining a safe environment for employees and guests.
7. Representing the department professionally and supporting team members, including hands-on maintenance work.
8. Assisting with guest service requests and minor maintenance repairs across various sites and facilities.
9. Supporting pool servicing, including cleaning, dosing, water balancing, and repairs.
10. Participating in on-site projects and repairs as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Proven leadership skills, with experience in influencing and motivating teams; resort or hotel experience is advantageous but not essential.
2. Trade qualification or similar is a bonus but not mandatory.
3. Hands-on experience with plant, garden maintenance, and operating related machinery.
4. A proactive attitude and adaptable communication style tailored to customer needs.
5. Understanding of hygiene standards and safe working procedures.
6. High physical fitness, energetic, enthusiastic, and hardworking.
