Responsibilities
* The Organisation: VACCA is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community; VACCA is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. The team is committed to the organisation's visions and values, providing support, service and advocacy for our children and other vulnerable community members.
* Role purpose: This role supports Aboriginal clients accessing the Orange Door Hub by managing referral intake, completing assessments, and responding to immediate needs. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the practitioner delivers culturally safe, high‐quality support to Aboriginal women, children, men and families. The role provides short‐term assistance and connects clients with appropriate services for ongoing support where required.
* Key activities: Deliver short‐term case management and crisis responses for Aboriginal clients; complete intake processes; undertake MARAM assessments; identify client needs; develop culturally responsive care plans; provide outreach where required; maintain accurate case notes, assessments, closures and incident reporting; keep client records up-to-date within the CRM and allocate brokerage appropriately; support triage processes to ensure timely and effective responses for clients.
Qualifications & Requirements
* A degree in social work (or equivalent) or willingness to work toward the qualification in line with the mandatory minimum qualifications policy or significant lived experience relevant to the work; minimum two years' experience in Family Violence sector.
* Valid Police Check; Victorian Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain); Victorian Driver Licence.
* Current COVID‐19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended).
