Overview of the RoleOur Australia Institutional Sales team is seeking an AVP to support Nuveen Australia's growing client base out of the Sydney, Australia office.The successful candidate will focus on developing and maintaining relationships with the firm's Australian clients while contributing to larger global relationships.The individual will support our expanding Institutional presence in Australia by promoting a wide range of investment solutions. The firm will provide training in product knowledge, processes & systems, relationship management, and other key skills.Key responsibilities include:Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to expand Nuveen’s institutional client base across Australia. This involves overseeing all client requests and coordinating investment meetings with investors.Maintain and update the client list and mandates, including fee terms and documentation of committed versus called capital.Partner with the Australia team to plan strategic roadshows for regional stakeholders, including preparing notes for individual discussions.Identify opportunities and generate pipeline across Nuveen’s investment capabilities by attending conferences and networking events.Lead client meetings and engagement activities, and continue developing existing relationships.Collaborate with stakeholders across Nuveen, including Product, Client Services, and Investment teams, to progress business opportunities.Utilize Hearsay via LinkedIn to promote Nuveen and its investment capabilities.Contribute to business planning, strategy development, and quarterly distribution reports for the Australia Board.Proficiently use Salesforce to record client opportunities, contacts, data room requests, RFIs, and DDQs.Technical Skills & Qualifications Required:Good understanding of the Australian insurance and superannuation markets, including key industry trends and developments.Familiarity with regulatory, capital, and accounting regimes affecting insurers and superannuation companies in Australia.Proven track record in institutional sales support.Established network of key decision-makers in Australia is preferred.Experience in building strong partnerships and managing client expectations effectively.Solid product and investment knowledge in Alternatives investing.Proficiency in Salesforce preferred.Relevant Level 4 FCA-recognized qualification, e.g., IMC, CFA Level 1, CAIA Level 1, or CIIA, is essential.Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degrees are preferable.Self-motivated with ownership mindset to achieve outcomes.Competencies Required:Act in accordance with Nuveen’s Company ValuesExcellent communication skills (both written and oral)Ability to deliver results and meet expectationsEntrepreneurial and commercial thinkingStrategic and conceptual formulationNetworking and relationship-buildingPersuasion and influence skillsCollaborative working style
