We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Quality and Safety lead Nurse to join our Emergency Departments and Urgent treatment Centre team at Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust.
The aim of the role is to maintain a safe and effective environment and thus enabling the delivery of high quality and effective urgent care and improving patient experience.
The post holder will have responsibility to maintain quality and safety in the EDs and UTC in partnership with other members of the team and will work collaboratively to develop services and improve the quality of care delivered.
The post holder will provide support to the EDs and UTC and ensure delivery on the quality and safety agenda for the Department. Support will be given to the governance lead on the co-ordination, implementation and delivery of the Clinical Specialty Clinical Governance agendas and ensure risks and assurances link into the Speciality Governance agendaInterview date to be confirmed
Main duties of the job
* Monitor and support delivery of the key Clinical Governance requirements, reporting any gaps or variance to the Divisional Senior Management Team with recommendations for corrective action.
* Support and monitor compliance with risk management policies to ensure they are effectively applied on the Unit and that risk registers are being maintained.
* Identify and ensure appropriate responses to recommendations from national and regional bodies are reported to the Divisional Governance Group and ensure that appropriate plans are made to address these (NICE, the Care Quality Commission, Department of Health, National Confidential Enquiries, Royal Colleges). Maintain records of responses and actions taken.
* Work within the speciality to ensure that quality assurance processes are in place to meet national recommendations across relevant areas in the Division.
* Ensure that records are audited and maintained and managed within current national and local guidance.
* Ensure there are appropriate systems in place for the reporting, management and investigation of clinical incidents, including serious incidents and significant events as required. Ensure that learning is shared throughout the Division/wider organisation.
* To support the development of new and innovative practice within the speciality to ensure the continuous improvement of Trust efficiency and effectiveness and the development of high standards of patient service and internal "customer" support.
