About the Role
This role is responsible for the installation, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of insulation and sheet metal to wide variety of equipment, pipework, vessels and structures. This role ensures that all installations meet design specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.
Key Accountabilities
* Demonstrated experience installing and removing thermal, acoustic, and fire‑rated insulation systems
* Proficient in fabrication, fitting, and installation of sheet metal cladding, jacketing, ducting, and flashings
* Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, isometrics, and insulation schedules Highly beneficial
* Skilled in measuring, marking, cutting, bending, and forming sheet metal using hand and power tools
* Knowledge of insulation materials including mineral wool, fiberglass, ceramic fibre, PIR, and phenolic products
* Experience working around piping, vessels, tanks, ductwork, and industrial equipment
* Strong understanding of WHS requirements, including working at heights, hot works, and confined spaces
* Competent in using site tools, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently
* Ability to perform quality checks to ensure compliance with standards and client specifications
* Previous experience on industrial, commercial, mining, or oil & gas sites (highly regarded)
* Performing assigned tasks and duties independently
Essential Criteria
* Read and comply with job instructions and specifications.
* Effective oral communication skills including developing and managing cooperative working relationships and resolving issues by negotiation.
* Ability to handle pressure and multi-task.
* “Can do”, hands-on approach to work and a focus on achieving results.
* Current Australian driver’s licence.
Desirable Criteria
* Be prepared to travel and work at other Ahrens work/project sites to complete work as required.
* Construction Card (White Card);
* HRWL – Forklift, EWP
* Working in confined space & Working at heights tickets
