City of Monash is a dynamic organisation committed to providing excellence in service delivery. Located in the eastern region, Monash is a cosmopolitan and culturally diverse city, close to the demographic centre of Melbourne.
The Community Amenity Department consists of four teams: Community Laws, Public Health, Business Support and Contracts & Strategy.
The Business Support Team operates as an efficient team to effectively support customers the departments programs and business units
About The Position
The position is responsible and accountable for undertaking all administrative functions across the work unit. It is a work area known for having to work at a fast pace to get through the high workload whilst providing customer service and advice in regard to applications, permits and renewals.
Skills And Experience
* Proven record of delivering administrative and business support activities in a fast paced environment including some experience in financial management systems, document management systems, and the development of improved procedures and practices.
* Demonstrated proficiency in a broad range of administrative and office processes, practices and procedures, including meeting procedures and recording, diary management, record management etc
* Track record of showing initiative and developing innovative solutions to support improved service delivery along with a demonstrated ability to successfully implement initiatives.
* Excellent organisational skills with a record of being a self-starter with the ability to manage time and prioritise workloads.
* Sound conceptual and analytical skills and the ability to contribute to the development and implementation of systems and procedures.
* Sound oral and written communication skills including editing and proofreading skills.
* High level skills in a variety of software programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and aptitude for new software systems
* Ability to work under pressure and maintain a constant level of output.
* Experience in a local government environment preferred
Requirements

* Office management or business administration experience.
* Satisfactory National Police Check.
