Own and manage instrument systems at Tamar Valley Power Station. Deliver safe, efficient maintenance and technical support.

Salary range – $93,140 - $114,552 based on experience, plus superannuation

The Tamar Valley Power Station was originally commissioned by Aurora Energy in 2009 and acquired by AETV Pty Ltd (AETV) in June 2013 as a subsidiary company of Hydro Tasmania. The 386 MW station comprises 208 MW of Combined Cycle Gas generation (CCGT) and 178 MW of Open Cycle Gas generation (OCGT). AETV operates as part of the Hydro Tasmania asset fleet, an organisation that, with the help of over 30,000 people over more than 100 years, has built, maintained, and refurbished power infrastructure across Tasmania. As an interconnected entity within Tasmania's energy landscape, AETV plays a distinct yet complementary role in delivering reliable energy solutions.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive, flexible, and equitable workplace. We welcome applications from all members of our community and support workplace flexibility to attract the best talent and accommodate individual needs, differences, and working arrangements. Our recruitment practices are merit‑based and focused on building diversity.

Who are you?

You're a qualified Instrument/Electrician with a current license and a strong background in instrument controls and protection systems. You have hands‑on experience in LV and HV distribution environments, instrument testing, and fault finding, and you're confident interpreting schematic and control circuit diagrams. With high‑level problem‑solving skills and the ability to plan, schedule, and manage resources effectively, you can communicate clearly, prepare detailed reports, and work collaboratively while maintaining a strong commitment to OH&S.

If you also bring knowledge of instrumentation, fire protection systems, HV switchyards, industrial communication systems, or experience with steam and gas turbines, that's a big plus

Incentives and Opportunities

In addition to a competitive remuneration package, this role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to Hydro Tasmania's partnership with AETV Power in delivering a reliable electricity supply for Tasmania.

We value flexibility and understand it means different things to different people, so we're open to discussing what arrangements work best for you. While you'll work closely with Hydro Tasmania, your employment will be with AETV Pty Ltd under the Electrical Power Industry Award (EPI Award) and an individual contract of employment.
