Senior Project Engineer
Our client is leading a leading indigenous owned civil contracting business who operate across a range of sectors in Western Australia. They are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead a $15M Defence Infrastructure Project – From Design to Execution. This is an exciting opportunity overseeing a range of complex civil works from design through to on-site construction. Initially based
north of the river
for the planning and design phase, you will transition to a
2:1 FIFO roster
for the construction phase, managing trenching, drainage, earthworks, pipelines, and underground services installation. This position involves managing the
full lifecycle
of a major Defence project, from design and planning to execution on-site. The
ideal candidate
will have
strong organisational skills
to navigate the logistical challenges of a large-scale project with a complex scope. The ability to manage multiple activities, stakeholders, and resources will be key to ensuring the project runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate engineering activities during the design phase from our metro-based office
Develop and manage project schedules, cost estimations, and risk assessments
Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, and contract administration
Manage site operations during the construction phase on a FIFO 2:1 roster
Ensure strict adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards
Manage logistics, resources, and project deliverables to meet timelines and budgets
Prepare technical reports, project updates, and stakeholder communications
Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure project success
About You
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Minimum 4 years' experience in civil infrastructure or construction
Strong
organisational and project management skills
to handle complex logistics
Proven experience with
planning, scheduling, and programming
Experience managing civil works such as trenching, pipelines, and underground services
Strong background in procurement, subcontractor management, and contract administration
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Familiar with Defence project requirements (desirable)
Able to work from a metro office during design and on-site with FIFO 2:1 during construction

Salary: $160,000 – $180,000 + Super + 35% Site uplift
