About the Opportunity
ASC is seeking multiple Electrical Designers / Drafters across all seniority levels to join our Platform Design team in support of key programs. In these roles you will apply your electrical expertise to deliver high‑quality design and drafting solutions to support the integration of current and updated designs across a wide range of submarine systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver electrical design and drafting tasks to agreed program commitments.
- Ensure engineering outputs comply with ASC processes and industry standards.
- Produce high quality electrical outputs such as cable block diagrams, schematics, termination diagrams, cable installation schedules, panel layouts / arrangements and parts / equipment lists.
- Assist with selection of electrical components suitable for design, installation and manufacture.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated engineering solutions.
- Provide regular task updates, escalating blockages and ensuring alignment with project priorities and objectives.
- Seek better ways of working, that drive improvement in relation to program cost, schedule and quality.
About you
- Experience as an Electrical Designer / Drafter supporting the delivery of engineering solutions.
- Electrical Trade experience / qualification is highly regarded.
- Experience in design and integration of electrical systems, including preparation of production level drawings and documentation.
- Experience in AutoCAD to produce 2D drawings is favourable (training provided).
- Exposure to control panel / switchboard design.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Adaptability to manage multiple design activities concurrently whilst still delivering work on time and within budget.
- Knowledge of configuration systems and the role of configuration management in the design process.
- A tertiary qualification e.g. Diploma / Advanced Diploma in a related Engineering discipline is desirable.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
