A Federal Government agency is seeking an APS5 Business Analyst (Modelling & Projections) to support forecasting, reporting, and operational analysis across a high-impact service delivery environment.

* Rate: $55 p/h + Superannuation
About the Role:
Working under limited supervision, the APS5 Business Analyst will support a national team in producing high-quality reports and projection models that inform resource planning, risk mitigation, and performance improvement. This hands-on role contributes to operational success by transforming data into actionable insights and supporting key stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and refine Excel-based projection and forecasting tools
* Assist in generating reports, dashboards, and visualisations for operational and strategic purposes
* Extract and analyse data using Excel, SAS, and other reporting tools
* Draft business insights, summaries, and recommendations for internal audiences
* Support monitoring of performance indicators and improvement outcomes
* Conduct quality assurance of reporting outputs, including trend and outcome analysis
* Help identify operational risks and support mitigation planning using data-driven evidence
* Respond to workflow requests and manage triage tasks via JIRA
* Assist with internal stakeholder engagement to build understanding of data products
* Other duties as required
Mandatory Requirements:
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Power Query, pivot tables, charts, advanced formulas)
* Demonstrated experience in forecasting and data modelling
* Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analysis approaches
* Strong communication skills to simplify complex information
* Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
