Development Support Officer
Location: Tamworth, NSW
The Opportunity
Supporting the Planning, Building and Development Engineering Teams

* Provide high level support & operational efficiency
Role Responsibilities
* The delivery of professional and courteous customer service to external clients in relation to planning, building, engineering, and property matters, in consultation with technical officers.
* Support internal teams through accurate administration, property information management, and technical assistance.
* Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of operational efficiencies across the Division.
* Assist in the management of online and electronic services, GIS systems, and development-related transactions.
* Maintain accurate records and help apply relevant legislation, standards, and local policies.
Requirements
Essential Criteria
* NSW Drivers Licence
* Certificate III in Business Administration or similar
Desirable Criteria
* Basic training in the Building Code of Australia, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Property Information Systems/GIS
Capabilities
* Demonstrated capability typically 3-5 years, in the following areas:
* Applying relevant legislation, codes and standards, including:
o Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979 and Local Government Act 1993
o Building Code of Australia, National Plumbing and Drainage Code
o Road naming and street numbering standards
* Understanding and assisting the Division's operating environment including property information, electronic and online services, geographical information systems and receipt of development related payments
* Delivering exceptional customer service including applying conflict resolution strategies and identifying, analysing and resolving problems
* Working effectively with others, developing work priorities and applying time management techniques
* Use of Microsoft Office programs
* Monitor and maintain a safe workplace
Salary and Benefits
* Salary range: Grade 9 - $1,243.30 - $1,345.40 per week plus 12% superannuation for a 35 hour work week.
* Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
* Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
