Take A Lead is Sydney's best dog training provider and is looking for a dog walker and trainer.
We love to train dogs and care for them like family.
You'll be working with the best in the industry learning the ropes on how to train dogs and take them on amazing outings. We not only have an amazing team, we also provide training on the job to become the best dog trainer out there.
What's the job?
We are looking for a highly experienced professional dog walker to join our friendly team of Dog walkers and trainers.
This is a full time position where you will be working 7:30-3:30pm Monday to Friday driving and picking up 4 dogs at a time to socialize and train them. We aim to make you a dog walk trainer extraordinary. You will learn how to train dogs and get the best out of them.
A typical day/week?…
* Providing group dog walking and training in a group of 4 dogs, this includes driving to pick up and drop off dogs. You will be training, interacting, exercising and socialising with groups of no more than 4 dogs at a time.
* You will be videoing dog training progress with each dog and sending it to the owners.
* Ensuring walks are fun and interesting and always ensuring safe handling and care of the dogs at all times.
* Taking high quality photos and videos 'on the job' and provide feedback and updates to clients after each outing.
* Posting photos and videos on our instagram account
* Managing your daily schedule and a high level of customer service and client communications around pick up and drop offs.
What you need to join Take A Lead as a Dog Walker & Trainer?
* You have been performing in a similar role and and have a desire to build your career as a subject matter expert in the field of professional dog trainer.
* You will have an excellent understanding of dog behaviour, handling and dog body language, with experience managing controlled and safe group dog walks from miniature to large size dogs breeds.
* You enjoy fitness and have the mental and physical stamina and resilience to deal with the challenge of balancing all responsibilities of this role and can manage high pressure situations
* You're an excellent time manager and adaptable to change as no day is ever the same.
* You're a fast learner, self-starter, responsible, reliable, have initiative and flexibility.
* You're respectful, able to effectively articulate yourself and positively influence others through your natural leadership practices.
* A friendly and positive individual, with a penchant for building solid and trustworthy relationships.
* Are adaptable, able to act out of confidence and make quick decisions
* You are proactive, resourceful, a strategic thinker and solution-orientated – you are able to maintain control and composure during stressful situations.
* Demonstrate professionalism and a high level of customer service and communication when dealing with clients and staff.
* You enjoy driving, are a confident and safe driver (capable of driving a caddy van), and understanding you have precious cargo on board. You will win in this role if you are able to tolerate busy Sydney traffic, this role entails a lot of driving.
* Confidence to communicate and record training videos for the customers
* Good english language skills to communicate dog training achievements on camera for customers.
* Ensure all daily administrative duties are up to date and accurate i.e. our service scheduling app and roster/time management systems. You will be reporting to the Training Walk Supervisor of any changes and cancellations.

* Proven work experience as a Professional Dog Walker.
* You commit to the role for a minimum of 12 months or longer.
* Highly competent using Iphones and need to know how to post photos and videos on instagram.
* Advanced time-management and decision-making skills.
* Currently working towards an Animal Companion or Dog Behaviour Training Certification.
* A confident and safe driver
* Can work autonomously and is trusted to carry out services unsupervised. You need to be happy to work Monday to Friday without supervision and by yourself with the dogs.
