We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fitter Machinist to join our team working in our Karratha workshop in Western Australia.
Essential Skills & Responsibilities
* Diagnose, repair, and maintain machinery, including fluid power and mechanical systems.
* Perform milling, cutting, grinding, boring, drilling, and precision machining on various metals to fine tolerances.
* Interpret drawings and machine components to specification.
* Operate equipment safely and efficiently and complete tasks as per Job Sheets and Work Instructions.
* Work flexibly across different machines and fitting duties.
* Inspect and check work throughout the machining process and report any non‑conforming product.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area and ensure all products are correctly marked.
* Check measuring equipment and report items requiring repair or recalibration.
Prerequisites
* Minimum Year 10 education.
* Trade certificate in a relevant mechanical or machining trade.
* Sound knowledge of engineering and machine shop practices.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
* Ability to work safely and follow established procedures.
* Minimum of 3 years post-apprenticeship workshop experience.
