About the role

As part of an exciting new pilot project, Eastern Health, as part of the LHSN, is welcoming clinicians who are interested in working across the east of Victoria. The LHSN is therefore seeking passionate and motivated Grade 2 Social Workers to join our Allied Health teams in physical health settings following service expansions. In this role, you will provide high‐quality, evidence‐based Social Work care to diverse patient groups while working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes for patients and families. You will also have the opportunity to supervise and support Grade 1 staff, Allied Health Assistants, and students, and contribute to the ongoing development of Social Work services alongside senior clinicians. You will be encouraged to participate in service improvement and research initiatives led by our Grade 3 and Grade 4 Clinical Leads.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence‐based Social Work care to diverse patient groups.
• Supervise and support Grade 1 staff, Allied Health Assistants, and students.
• Contribute to the development of Social Work services.
• Engage in service improvement and research initiatives.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to achieve best outcomes for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the AASW.
• At least 3 years of Social Work experience.
• Desirable to have healthcare experience.
• Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience.
• Strong commitment to high quality care.
• Ability to work as part of a diverse team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Seasonal influenza vaccination mandatory; as a healthcare worker, you must follow COVID vaccination recommendations (no up‐to‐date influenza vaccination is required for those starting between January and April, but must be up‐to‐date for those starting between May and December).
• Must be eligible to work in Australia.
