Job Title: Experienced Correctional Officer
Overview
The Northern Territory Department of Corrections (DoC) plays a vital role in the community and criminal justice system to improve outcomes for prisoners and the community. This role requires an experienced officer to manage prisoners safely and humanely.
Responsibilities
* Supervise, monitor, and manage prisoners.
* Employ appropriate security measures to ensure safety.
* Undertake escorts and respond to emergencies.
* When holding a Trade Certificate, supervise and train prisoners in Correctional Services Industries.
Qualifications
* Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or Australian permanent residency.
* Minimum two years' experience as a Correctional Officer in the last two years.
* Certificate III in Correctional Practice or equivalent.
* Strong communication, organisational skills and ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
Benefits & Remuneration
Remuneration Package: $107,825 – $118,299 (inclusive of superannuation and allowances). Base pay $69,074 – $75,784.

Salary ranges by certificate level:
* Certificate III – $69,074 – $75,784 plus 40% consolidated allowance, 11.5% superannuation ($107,825 – $118,299).
* Certificate IV – $75,784 plus 40% consolidated allowance, 11.5% superannuation ($118,299).
Retention allowance: $10,000 for Alice Springs paid in installments at 3, 6, and 12 months, plus a $5,000 lump sum after each additional 12 months.
