Details: An exciting opportunity exists within the Office of the Deputy Director‑General, Office for Industrial Relations and Workforce Strategy (OIRWS), for a motivated Executive Support Officer (ESO) to join the team immediately for three months, with the possibility of extension. The role forms part of the high‑performing Executive Support team and reports to the Senior Director, providing high‑level administrative and operational support to the Deputy Director‑General and, as required, to other senior executives across the Division.

In this position, you will be responsible for managing complex diaries, emails and calls; coordinating meetings; responding to enquiries; and preparing high‑quality correspondence and documentation. To be successful, you will demonstrate experience supporting senior executives preferably within a government environment along with strong organisational and coordination skills and an understanding of contemporary government practices and processes.

You will be relied upon to consolidate information from multiple sources and produce accurate, well‑written materials with strong attention to detail. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. You will thrive in this environment if you are resilient, flexible, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced and dynamic workplace.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

* Previous experience providing executive support and coordination in a government organisation is highly desirable.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of three months with the possibility of extension up to six months. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection method may be based off application and referee only.
