About the Role
Safe Knight is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Officer to join our team in Southport. This is a hands-on role managing the accounts and payroll for our Security and Traffic Control divisions—requiring a confident professional capable of navigating complex pay structures across two distinct industries.
This position is initially offered on a Casual basis (25 hours), specifically designed to suit school hours with the capability to move to Full Time for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting two business entities, your duties will include:
* Weekly End-to-End Payroll: Accurately applying penalty rates, allowances, and overtime specific to Security and Traffic Control awards.
* Financial Operations: Managing Accounts Payable/Receivable, invoicing, quoting, and managing the accounts inbox.
* Reporting & Compliance: Providing monthly management reports, assisting with STP reporting, and preparing data for BAS/Tax.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Building relationships with clients and internal staff.
* General Admin: Supporting day to day administration and operations tasks, data entry and documentation management.
* Company Compliance: Assisting with tracking compliance requirements for the business and employees.
What We Need From You
* Experience: Minimum 3 years in payroll processing and AP/AR and general administration is essential.
* Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Xero, MS Office Suite, and shared drives.
* Award Knowledge: Ability to interpret complex industrial awards (experience in Security or Construction industries is advantageous).
* Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong ethical standards, and the ability to prioritise tasks in a developing team environment.
* Availability: Immediate start preferred.
