Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and service execution.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality standards.
* Prepare, cook, and plate dishes according to established recipes and presentation guidelines.
* Monitor food quality, portion control, and freshness throughout service.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
* Manage inventory, ordering, and proper storage of ingredients.
* Step in as acting chef in the Head Chef's absence.
* Help develop menus, specials, and seasonal offerings.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a premium restaurant.
* Strong focus on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
* Leadership and teamwork skills; ability to mentor and develop culinary professionals in a high-volume environment.
* Effective communication; ability to provide timely updates.
* Health & Safety Commitment: Knowledge of Food Safety standards and WHS regulations.
