Job Description
BESIX Watpac are looking for a Workforce Training Coordinator to join our NSW Construction team to drive training, community engagement and upskilling of the BESIX Watpac workforce and the local communities. Duties will include:
* Build effective working relationships with BESIX Watpac management, the Department of Education, Training Services NSW, subcontractors, local universities, local schools, local community, local business, local government, and other relevant external industry stakeholder groups to drive workforce training and participation outcomes.
* Deliver presentations, facilitate meetings, and engage with various working groups to achieve desired workforce training and participation outcomes.
* Develop project-based programs and initiatives to:
* Increase participation and retention rates of apprentices and trainees on site.
* Increase the uptake of construction workers completing education and training.
* Increase awareness on the importance of supporting marginalised groups to work in the construction sector.
* Provide ISLP (Infrastructure Skills Legacy Program) support and align with specific targets including Women in Non-Traditional trades and Women entering into the workforce.
* Develop and implement pre-employment and pre-apprenticeship programs to provide pathways for entry into the construction industry.
* Build the workforce training and participation knowledge base of subcontractors through engagement, training, and awareness programs.
* Collate workforce training and participation statistics and report monthly to the National Workforce Training Manager, Project Managers, and NSW Senior Management.
Qualifications
The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:
* Understanding of the NSW Government training policies, training services NSW guidelines including Infrastructure Skills Legacy Program.
* Training administration gained in a medium to large organisation - ideally in the construction and/or civil environment.
* Ability to work with subject matter experts and/or business stakeholders to lead the development of practical and engaging training programs.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and train diverse teams and build effective relationships across all levels of the business with a particularly strong external customer focus.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and training management software.
* Knowledge of relevant WHS legislation and industry compliance standards.
* Ability to assess training needs and measure training outcomes effectively.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
* A collaborative team player with a focus on safety and efficiency.
* Adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
