ABOUT THE ROLE
The Student Success Librarian plays a key role in improving student capability, retention, and wellbeing by delivering targeted information and digital capability initiatives tailored to the needs of diverse student cohorts. The role contributes specialist library expertise to integrated academic and student services frameworks, supporting coordinated and holistic approaches to student learning and support. It promotes equitable learning environments by contributing to initiatives that enhance access, participation, and academic success for diverse and underrepresented student groups. The Student Success Librarian enhances students' research and academic skills through the design and delivery of engaging workshops and high‐quality, on‐demand learning resources across face‐to‐face and online platforms. The role also demonstrates the impact of library contributions by analysing engagement data and learning analytics to evidence improvements in retention, academic performance, and student wellbeing, while embedding student success expertise within disciplinary contexts through timely, targeted interventions that support teaching and learning activities.
WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE
* Qualifications and experience in Library and Information Science or a related discipline, aligned with the appropriate Higher Education Worker Level under the Enterprise Agreement.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute information and digital capability expertise to the design and delivery of student success and retention initiatives.
* High-level analytical and evaluation skills, with the ability to collect, interpret, and report on engagement data and learning analytics to demonstrate impact and inform continuous improvement.
* Proven ability to build strong collaborative partnerships across academic support services, student services, teaching staff, and diverse student communities.
* Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including cultural competency, strong presentation capability, and an empathetic, professional approach to student support.
* Well‐developed organisational, problem‐solving, and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and exercise initiative in developing innovative solutions.
