Sage Hotel James Street is looking for a Duty Manager to join the team. The hotel is built around the historic Queens Arms (QA); this 93-room property seamlessly combines the traditional façade with modern hotel interiors. Guests enjoy exploring the surrounding designer shops, bars, and restaurants that make the iconic James Street precinct so unique. With 93 rooms, it is a digitally-savvy and locally-connected hotel, celebrated for its locally-sourced decorations and mini-bar amenities.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, as the Duty Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of front desk operations. You and your team will provide guests with an experience that exceeds their expectations throughout their stay.
Position Requirements:
* Assist in all aspects of running the front desk and supporting the team
* Warmly welcome guests upon arrival and ensure a seamless check-in/check-out experience
* Coordinate and oversee the running of the hotel in the absence of the Operations Manager
* Handle and resolve any guest concerns effectively, professionally, and confidently
* Answer all incoming calls promptly and provide appropriate assistance
* Maintain an updated MOD log on every shift
* Check rooms to ensure any special requests are carried out
* Stay level-headed to handle emergencies, acting as Chief Fire Warden and First Aid Officer when required
* Experience in overnight shifts and rolling systems is advantageous

Skills and experience:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
* MUST have supervisory Hotel Front Office experience
* Flexible to work a 24/7 roster, including public holidays and weekends
* Open Manual licence or willingness to obtain one
* Understanding of Front Office Procedures and Systems
* Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
