Main duties of the job
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will monitor the wellbeing of each resident, contribute to person-centred care planning, support residents with their medication requirements, and undertake staff supervisions. You will also act as a key contact for residents, their relatives and visitors, and for health and social care professionals involved in residents' wellbeing.
- Monitor the wellbeing of each resident, be aware of changes affecting care and care plans, ensure new needs are met, and update written records accordingly.
- Be involved in the person-centred care planning process by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
- Support residents with their medication requirements.
- Undertake staff supervisions and support staff development where required.
- Act as a key point of contact for residents, relatives and visitors, and for health and social care professionals, ensuring reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints escalated where needed.

- NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
- Two years of experience in a similar care environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
- Responsive and adaptable to cover a range of responsibilities.
