Avanade is growing, and we seek motivated and engaged technology people to join our Managed Services team delivering continuous value to our client’s businesses. We are seeking a M365 Support Specialist who is passionate about helping customers and eager to learn. You will be responsible for working closely with customers to provide a high‑touch managed‑services partnership model and ensure a great customer experience. In this role, you'll support customers across Avanade’s Managed Services while developing your technical and problem‑solving skills. You'll work through customer queries from start to finish, providing updates, gathering information, and ensuring a smooth experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting large‑scale Microsoft M365 / Azure deployments in secure environments, performing platform evolution activities.
* Engineer, configure, and operate Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams and related workloads.
* Implement and maintain identity and access controls using Microsoft Entra ID, including users, groups, roles, conditional access and MFA.
* Administer Azure resources supporting M365 and enterprise workloads, including subscriptions, resource groups, networking, and identity integrations.
* Manage tenant configuration, service settings, and platform baselines in alignment with security and governance standards.
* Implement and support information protection, compliance, and security controls across M365 and Azure.
* Support joiner, mover and leaver processes including account provisioning, access changes, and decommissioning.
* Manage licensing, group‑based access, and service enablement for M365 and Azure workloads.
* Investigate and resolve platform incidents, service degradations and operational issues (L2/L3 support).
* Perform changes, enhancements, and minor uplift activities in line with change and release management processes.
* Monitor service health, security alerts and operational telemetry across M365 and Azure platforms.
* Maintain technical documentation including configurations, operational procedures and as‑built records.
* Collaborate with architects, security teams and service owners to implement approved designs and standards.
* Support audits, assurance activities and compliance reporting as required.
Qualifications
* You are an experienced technologist comfortable working with a technical team and have a track record of solution delivery. You have good communication and interpersonal skills to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contribute effectively to our Managed Services organisation.
* You possess analytical and problem‑solving skills enabling you to be creative and innovative in supporting our clients. You also strive to continually improve our clients’ environments through evergreen practices and platform evolution.
* You are an Australian Citizen with at least NV‑1 security clearance.
* Note: this is an on‑site role.
* Proven ability to work within a structured IT governance framework and deliver results that adhere to relevant Commonwealth standards and policies.
* Stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to negotiate outcomes as required.
* Provide technical expertise to projects and business areas.
* Maintain a high level of professionalism, sound judgement and decision‑making skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and be highly motivated.
* You will likely possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems or a related field.
* Over 7 years relevant technology experience including solution and delivery particularly within a consultancy or systems integrator.
