The CFS Operational Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of projects that support firefighting and other emergency operations undertaken by CFS volunteers and staff.
This particular position will have a primary focus on developing SACFS Assist Medical type incident operational procedures and any associated inter-agency agreements on emergency response, training, and service expectations for these incident types.
Other operational projects will be considered based on actual workload.
The successful applicant will be expected to take a project management approach and plan well for the implementation of project deliverables, with a significant level of engagement with CFS volunteers and other emergency agencies.
Key challenges will include managing a variety of stakeholders and their expectations, combining multiple sources of operational policy and procedures (from across different agencies) into coherent policy and procedures for the CFS, and managing a project over a short time frame.
Primary purpose of the role: Provision of project management and administration function for CFS Operations.Support and contribute to the development of specific agency operational policy and procedure.Develop project plans, with reference to a pre-determined project scope.Establish and lead project working/reference groups, as necessary, to ensure a consultative and collaborative approach to project outcomes.Effectively plan for the implementation and review of project deliverables.Provide advice to enable effective decision making by SACFS Executives and senior leaders relating to operational project deliverables and options.Develop and incorporate risk management strategies to effectively identify and mitigate project risks.Lead and maintain relationships with key project stakeholders within and external to SACFS, including the Emergency Services Sector and the wider SA Government, to ensure effective, compliant and coordinated operational project outcomes.Contribute to the training and education for SACFS members, as part of a volunteer-focused service, SA Government agency, and to major stakeholders where appropriate for the project.Monitor, address and report on project progress and performance.Undertaking of an emergency support or incident management role, via a defined 'operational' on-call roster, with the potential to be re-called under emergency situations, to enable the provision of emergency service activities by CFS to the community.
Whilst undertaking such operational roles, personnel will be required to work in emergency situations, which may include day, afternoon, night, or extended shifts.#J-18808-Ljbffr
