The Role
Based in Bunbury, the Civil Maintenance Supervisor ensures all preventative, routine, breakdown and planned maintenance is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. The role oversees compliance with Resources Safety requirements and applies relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice. All work is carried out in alignment with Southern Ports' vision, strategy and corporate values.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance Delivery – Supervise and ensure timely, safe and high-quality completion of all maintenance activities, including preventative, routine and breakdown tasks, and oversee commissioning of new works.
Contractor & Service Provider Coordination – Ensure contractors have a safe work environment, comply with safety requirements, and support the Maintenance Team with contractor coordination as needed.
Work Management & Reporting – Raise detailed work requests for asset defects, record accurate work order information, and follow Southern Ports' work management processes to support effective planning and scheduling.
Equipment & Reliability Management – Operate plant and equipment safely and to specification, and work with the Maintenance Planner to capture and analyse reliability and performance data.
Safety, Risk & Compliance – Conduct risk assessments, obtain permits, report hazards and incidents, participate in investigations, and ensure all work complies with relevant standards, regulations and procedures.
Team Leadership & Coordination – Allocate tasks, authorise permits and risk assessments, coach team members, and ensure safe, efficient completion of scheduled work while maintaining personal fitness for duty.
Asset Reliability – Understand asset risk and use as a driver to prioritise maintenance response through Southern Ports work management practices.
Required
Demonstrated experience supervising maintenance teams in an industrial, maritime, mining, utilities, or similar environment.
Minimum 2 years experience in ports, mining or heavy industry.
Experience of working effectively as part of a team.
High level understanding of OH&S as it relates to the workplace.
High-level analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
High risk workers license.
Mobile/Overhead Crane License.
Scaffolding/Rigging Qualifications.
Excavator, Skid Steer Loader, Front End Loader, EWP, Coxswain, Chainsaw Certification.
Current WA HR license.
