Overview
Hardware Validation & Manufacturing Integration Engineer — Location: North, Gold Coast, QLD
We are seeking a Hardware Validation & Manufacturing Integration Engineer to act as a key link between product engineering, manufacturing, and customer deployments. The role involves validating hardware designs, managing escalations, and ensuring both in-house and third-party components are production-ready and reliable.
Responsibilities
Hardware Validation & Testing
* Qualify first-article prototypes and validate hardware prior to mass production
* Execute detailed test plans on hardware products to ensure performance, durability, and compliance with standards
* Design and perform manual and automated tests for electrical and mechanical systems
Customer Site Support & Escalations
* Provide on-site validation, quality analysis, and deployment support at customer locations
* Manage escalations for hardware-related issues, collaborating cross-functionally to resolve problems
* Conduct thorough root cause analysis for test, production, and field failures
* Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and thermal analysis equipment to resolve electrical and mechanical issues
* Review hardware designs for manufacturability using SolidWorks or equivalent tools
* Provide DFM (Design for Manufacturability) feedback early in the design cycle
* Validate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) across mechanical and electrical domains
* Evaluate, select, and qualify third-party components
* Manage EOL (End-of-Life) part replacements and lead value engineering initiatives to reduce cost and improve performance
* Identify, source, and evaluate next-generation third-party components
* Collaborate with supply chain and contract manufacturers to onboard new components or manage product changes
* Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustainment of existing product lines with robust lifecycle strategies
Documentation & Reporting
* Generate detailed reports on testing, failures, validations, and escalations
* Contribute to internal documentation of hardware quality processes and component evaluations
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or a related field
* 3+ years' experience in hardware validation, production support, or component engineering
* Strong understanding of hardware testing methods (manual and automated)
* Hands-on experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software
* Skilled in using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
* Familiarity with component lifecycle management, sourcing processes, and EOL transitions
* Willingness to travel to customer and manufacturing sites
* Strong communication skills with a structured, problem-solving approach
