Assistant in Nursing - Theatre/ Day Surgery - Part-time
We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Assistant in Nursing with experience in a perioperative environment, to join our clinical team on a part time basis with a minimum 48 hours per fortnight. Monday to Friday - no weekends, no public holidays and no overnights.
Duties and responsibilities:
This role will see you working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to support patient care needs and deliver exceptional clinical outcomes.
The role includes but is not limited to:
- Support the nursing team to deliver safe, evidence-based patient care
- Assist the team within AIN scope of practice and under the supervision of registered nurses
- Clinical observations, documentation and reporting
- Simple wound care and dressings
- Handling, moving, transferring and positioning patients
- Surgical setups and assembling supplies/equipment
- Assist the team in cleaning the Perioperative environment including linen and waste removal
- Ensure patient safety and communication with surgical team is always a key focus
- Assist patients with general requests, mobility and post-op refreshments
- Participate in quality improvement and stock handling activities to lift the efficiency of the hospital
About You:
You have a genuine passion for nursing, providing world-class patient care and adding value to Australian healthcare. You will have:
- Solid experience in a comparable role in a theatre / perioperative setting desirable
- Certificate III in Health Service Assistance or currently studying Bachelor of Nursing 2nd year and above
- Ability to work in a quick-paced environment
- A team player with well-honed communication skills
