About the Role
As Manager, Technology Assurance, you will play a critical role in strengthening BOQ's technology and cyber security risk posture. This role leads the delivery of independent, end‐to‐end assurance reviews across IT and cyber security controls, while also helping to build the foundations of BOQ's automated assurance strategy.
Operating at the intersection of Technology, Risk and the Business, you will provide pragmatic, commercially‐focused insights that support informed decision‐making and proactive risk management.
You will work closely with Business Unit leaders, Group Risk (Line 2) and Internal Audit (Line 3), ensuring technology and cyber risks are identified, understood and managed in line with regulatory expectations, industry best practice and BOQ's internal standards.
This role is instrumental in promoting a strong and proactive risk culture across the organisation. You will partner with senior stakeholders to recommend and embed practical improvements to technology and cyber security frameworks, support risk governance and reporting activities, and contribute to the delivery of remediation initiatives under the Group's Program rQ remedial action plan.
About You
You are an experienced technology risk and assurance professional with a strong background in IT and cyber security controls, and you thrive in complex, regulated environments. You bring a pragmatic, commercial mindset and are confident providing independent challenge while building trusted relationships across Technology, Risk and the broader business.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology or a related discipline, and a relevant professional certification such as CISA, CISSP or CRISC.
We're looking for someone with experience in technology audit, technology risk or assurance, ideally within financial services or a similarly regulated industry, and a proven track record of designing and delivering independent, end‐to‐end reviews of critical IT and cyber security controls.
You are skilled at identifying control gaps, determining root cause, assessing emerging and systemic risks, and translating complex issues into clear, actionable recommendations that drive meaningful improvement.
Most importantly, you are passionate about fostering a proactive risk culture and collaborating across the business to strengthen technology and cyber risk outcomes for BOQ.
