JOB DESCRIPTION
The position is responsible for carrying out specialist saleyard and maintenance duties with limited supervision, contributing to the safety and operational efficiency of the Muchea Livestock Centre. Drawing on their experience and skills gained within the agricultural sector, the role involves routine facility upkeep, equipment maintenance, handling livestock and supporting the site operations, whilst ensuring all standard operating procedures are followed.
SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Substantial demonstrated experience in the effective and safe use and maintenance of mobile and plant equipment in stockyards or similar environments.
2. Substantial demonstrated experience in low stress livestock handling and application of Animal Welfare Regulations.
3. Demonstrated experience in effective inter and intra-team communication, working co-operatively in and across groups and training other staff.
4. Demonstrated experience in the effective use of initiative and problem-solving skills to achieve safe outcomes for all groups across the organisation.
5. The ability to work semi-autonomously, effectively manage deadlines and competing priorities.
6. Category A, B, C or E firearm license and machinery licenses or qualifications (e.g. Forklift, HR, Skid Steer, Loader)
7. Experience in livestock saleyards or similar environments.

* Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia.
* Completion of a 100 Point Identification Check.
* Successful Criminal Record Screening Clearance.
* Successful Pre-Employment Medical Clearance.
* Successfully confirms/participates in Q-Fever Vaccination Program.
* Provide training certificates and applicable licenses.
