Role Overview

The Simulator Technician is responsible to the Maintenance Manager to perform all preventative and corrective maintenance on training devices under support in a safe and effective manner, ensuring maximum successful training events are able to be achieved by the end user.

This role is based at RAAF Base Richmond, NSW.

Responsibilities

- Carry out all maintenance tasks as required and directed by Senior Simulator Technician or Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks meet internal and external compliance requirements.
- As a Technician, you will get to work on world‑leading flight simulator technology.
- Work to CAE’s Environment, Health and Safety standards.

Our ideal candidate has:

- A current NV1 security clearance.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
- Technician/Mechanical trade skill is desired, such as electronic tech, electrician, IT professional, etc.
- Sound IT knowledge and ability to learn systems quickly.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Avionics technician certification, experience or knowledge will be a big plus!
- Be able to work in a team environment.

Security requirements

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
