**Position Information**:
Colo High School is a proud, comprehensive high school with an outstanding record of achievement in academic, sporting and cultural pursuits. The school serves communities situated in the semi-rural Hawkesbury area and was established in 1978 with approximately 850 student enrolments, 49 of those identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
The School Plan reflects Colo High School's willingness to embrace the future in developing a cooperative partnership with its school community, as well as a culture of excellence and lifelong learning within a happy and safe learning environment. The school is committed to continually improving effective classroom practices with staff professional learning strategically aligned to the School Improvement Plan.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Approval to teach secondary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education, with the capacity to use the Oliver Library Management System.
- Capacity to effectively manage a modern library and its resources, that functions as a learning centre for the school, including use of digital and ICT resources.
- Capacity to engage and support teachers and students from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, in delivering effective teaching and learning, including developing student literacy, numeracy, research skills and critical thinking.
- Demonstrated capacity to collaborate and communicate effectively with staff in the design and continued development of a modern learning centre to create a stimulating future focused learning environment utilising evidence-based practices.
- Capacity to build upon existing programs in collaboration with the Learning Support Team and lead the development of targeted programs which align with the School Improvement Plan.
