ABOUT THE ROLE In this exciting role, you’ll play a key part in shaping and delivering the veterinary science undergraduate program—specifically in years 2 and 3—with a focus on animal handling and husbandry. You'll also serve as the academic advisor for farm placements, participate in immersive field trips, and foster industry engagement with students in the early stages of their veterinary journey. Working closely with a fellow Academic Coordinator, you'll help drive teaching innovation through our skills development program and the integration of emerging technologies such as virtual reality. Together, you’ll lead the way in transforming veterinary education—enhancing student learning while creating exciting opportunities for research in the scholarship of teaching. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE We're seeking someone with experience in academic settings, particularly in subject coordination, who thrives in collaborative environments and has a genuine passion for education. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are a must, as is a commitment to delivering high-quality learning experiences for students. Ideally, you’ll also bring: A Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) registerable in Queensland, Experience in curriculum design and implementation, A background in teaching animal handling and husbandry, An interest in or experience with simulation and clinical teaching tools. What You’ll Need: Demonstrated immunity to Q fever, Registration with the Queensland Veterinary Surgeons Board (if applicable).
