Job Overview
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon - Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital - 12-month contract, up to 1.0 FTE available. With 265 beds, Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is a major health facility in the heart of the beautiful New England / North West region of NSW providing a wide range of high-quality, patient-focused care. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to work with the team at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital. Our Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons are supported by a team of four permanent Registrars, who are in turn supported by a team of three JMOs. You will be allocated to the department roster duties including but not limited to: elective surgery, trauma theatre, orthopaedic and fracture clinics, daily ward rounds, portion of the on-call roster, teaching and support of the Registrar team. Award rate, temporary VMO or Staff Specialist contracts available for up to 12 months with possible extension. Accommodation and car provided.
Responsibilities
Perform elective surgery and trauma theatre procedures.
Provide orthopaedic and fracture clinic care.
Conduct daily ward rounds.
Participate in on-call roster duties.
Teach and support the registrar team.
Qualifications
FRACS certification.
